Default V50 blower stopped working

On my Volvo V 50 the other night with the blower going with the air-conditioning on there was a burning smell and the motor immediately stopped which anybody consider this to be the resistor or the motor if so can anybody point me in the right direction for the location of both these items and how easy are they to get tea thank you

Default Blower fan

Same problem. My local garage (a one man outfit who does a lot of Volvos) has shrunk from doing it as he hasn't done it before. He says the whole dash needs to come off and it needs a specialist tool to fit.

I bought a second hand blower from ebay (new ones are over £300).

Looking for someone who can fix - I wouldn't attempt it.

If I solve it I'll let you know.

Default Replace blower fan

I had to change my blower motor,I'm afraid it's a dashboard removal or move it back out of the way to install the new one, I found the hardest part was replacing the screws that hold the motor onto the heater unit .not the easiest of jobs but can be done outside the house, Ford Focus has the same motor if that helps
