big brakes and wheels
I'm hoping someone on here can help me. I'm doing a big brake kit upgrade on my 240 estate, using R callipers and 13" discs.
Any idea on what wheels I can use, I know the minimum I need is a 17 but no idea on offset or anything. I found some Wolfrace JDM Satin Black Alloy Wheels - 5x108 17x7.5" ET35 but I've no idea if they'll interfere with suspension or anything Any help is appreciated |

Read Volvo 240 big brakes articles - might help. Standard GLT disks and calipers once renewed should stop it.....

Standard offset is ET20 so you need something around that or lower to fit.
Your problem is with the massive rear arch lips you'll not get any wider than a 7" without hammering the lips back. Im using RX7 FC3S Turbo calipers with 740 discs and DVS Performance adapter brackets. Wheelwise I converted to 5X114.3 utililsing 20mm hub adapters at the front and 30mm at the rear. Coupled with a 17x8 ET35 and 17x9 ET38 (giving me an ET15 and ET8 with the spacers) it gives me plenty of brake clearance but my rear arch lips are hammered right back and clearance is still tight. |
