Default Map update Question

HI all
I'm just downloading the latest map update. I went to Doncaster airport last week and the new link road was not on my current map so thought I'd update it.

I've read posts on here saying it takes about 1.5 hours to install.
Can you interrupt the installation part way through and does it resume ok?

So my daily commute is about an hour, Can I start it installing before I set off, when I get to work turn it off, will it automatically resume when I travel home in the afternoon?

Thanks
Tim

My car was registered Sept 17 and badly needs an update. Sluff(slough), Arksfud (oxford) Isles berry (aylesbury) weemblie (Wembley ) seem to take me onto back roads / housing estates I never knew existed. Where do I get these updates? Or is there a way to display the incredibly precise Google Maps onto my screen?

The Sat Nav is as it is. You will just have to get used to it (or use Waze on a Smartphone).

Was looking for the link thankyou.
I picked up my XC60 on Saturday and asked the sales person how to update it. They say its a 42GB download that will take a good day to transfer it from USB into the car!

+1 on that did mine as soon as I swapped the car.

As mentioned it can also pause & resume so just plug in a USB & leave it to complete as you drive around, all that doesn't seem to work is the NAV whilst it does it.

Updated my today, very simple and easy. After a slow download onto a 32gb USB stick. I put it into the car this morning and set of on my morning commute. It had not finished when I arrived at work but it did resume fine when I was returning home. As above it took about 1.5 hours.

It now has the new link road feeding into Doncaster airport
