Default 3 Child Seats along the back? XC90

Hello all,

I am interested in purchasing a XC90 and I have 3 very small children.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have 3 child seats in the middle row? I understand that there are 2 isofix points on the outter seats but not in the middle.

Thanks

Mix of rear facing and forward facing you are fine with just about any seats. With all facing forward you need to do a bit of reasearch to make sure shoulder space is asequate as some have really chunky side protection.

There should be threads on swedespeed xc90 forum referencing YouTube review back in 2015/16 where reviewer fit three the same way.

You can just come to mothercare in any retail park - they do free seat fitting service and ask them to plonk their demos side by side because you are not sure.

We've got 3 bears - aged 4 and twins aged 2, we could just about fit 2 baby seats for the twins and one stage 2 seat for the 4 year old in the back row. Now they are all in stage 2 seats, they basically don't fit, I've been to a couple of places and tried all combinations and makes of seats with no joy.

In the end we ordered a multimac which arrives this week! It was expensive but will last until they are 12, and meant that I didn't have to change the car into a bus.

Have you tried sliding the middle seat a bit to the back so that to give more space to the two on the sides?

We tried everything - seats, combinations and positions. The problem is that over the last few years car seats have grown in size at a faster rate than cars.

Remember only the two outer seats have isofix. You can always use the front passenger seat for one child seat and two in the middle row, but fitting child seats in both mid row outer seats restricts access to the 3rd row if required.

There was some discussion a while back on a related topic:

https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showt...errerid=184177

We’ve easily got three Maxi Cosi group 2/3 high back boosters in the XC90 and had at one point 3 Group 1 maxi Cosi priori seats in our previous Touareg, so should be fine in the xc90, but you’ll have to ditch isofix in favour of belt fit ones.
