Did you have to upgrade your engine internals at all? I've heard 10psi is highest safe psi on stock engine.

Or is that just because the turbo and injectors are too small and once you replace those the engine internals are good?

The internals are very strong mate its the turbo that cannot run anymore than 15 psi after that they blow hotair .the rods and pistons have been proved to take over 400 bhp but the standard clutch won't take anymore than 250 bhp.and yes at that time I was on standard internals and took over 480nm no probs

Can the hot air be remedied with a FMIC or is it not worth the effort when you can just put a bigger turbo in?

Will do, I'll leave it for a bit though and just have 10psi and hopefully around 200hp for a while. This is gonna be my first car I really do anything with and I've got to learn my basics.

Thanks for all the information though

If you chip it and put an exhaust on it too then you can get upto 220bhp and a very quick motor too because of the very quick spool up and with the chips you can tun the turbo at 15psi .the are other ways too without chips by using a 3in maf and bigger injectors .
