Yep definitely pointless! I wouldn't mind if it braked or something if you got over the set speed but all it appear to is beep...

Ooh this is very useful info, maybe I can get them to do that? Aftersales were very apologetic, manager is calling tomorrow or Monday so I will check out your suggestion in the meantime.

Thank you so much. I'm loving the car so don't want to reject it, this is the perfect answer.

I've got the D2, it's lovely, my partner liked it so much when he saw it he's gone out and bought V60 D3, so we're becoming our own mini branch of the Volvo Owners Club!

This is the incorrect part, as you already have the speed limiter, you need the alternative button with both the limiter and cruise buttons in its place.

I have installed the button on mine (£25 on ebay), but Volvo want £345 for the software pack and download.

Good luck with your dealer.

I'm not really bothered about the limiter, so will probably go with whatever is cheaper?easier. I'm going to speak directly to Volvo on Monday and see what they recommend. I'm worried if I diy it I would probably void the warranty. Plus I am hoping this will be (or at least part of it) at dealer's expense. Preliminary discussions suggest they will be willing to come to some kind of agreement.

Interesting, the speed limiter on my MY13 D2 SE doesn't beep but it does limit the speed. I wonder if you have a fault. I find the speed limiter very useful in average speed camera zones definitely not pointless.

I've not tried it, that was from just reading around.. I really wanted the cruise as I do a 500 mile round trip every couple of weeks...
