The joys of a homegrown full service...
So, I set about sorting out my cold start issues with my Torslanda yesterday...I replaced the fuel filter (the old one was so crusty it has practically ossified into some sort of organic material!), Then decided to go for a full service...full flush and fresh oil and filter, air filter, plugs, HT leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm, cleaned throttle body followed by a dose of Forte injector cleaner. New diff oil on the way too before the weekend, and I'll have the PCV and flame trap out for cleaning next.
It always amazes me how much smoother the car is after a good going over. Really lovely and punchy on the throttle now and smooth all through the rev range. Oh...and it started on the button this morning!

That's one side of the coin, and it's wonderful when it works. Well done!
But the other is that the old fault comes back again, only now because you have changed everything you have no idea where to start to diagnose the problem. My rule now from long experience is only ever to change one thing at a time. |
