Default "Front Lower Wishbone bushes" or "Front Wishbone bushes"

Hi,

Is there a difference between "Front Lower Wishbone bushes" and "Front Wishbone bushes"?

Or are they the same. I've got an S60?

Also, anyone know what "slight play in both track rods" mean? Is it expensive?

Cheers!

"Slight play in track rod ends" means there ís some exceptional movement in the rods which control the steering of the car.
At this stage I'm guessing your garage is warning you that at the next service you may be looking at replacing these.
No idea how much they cost at Volvo.

If you have worn track rod ends you will notice you may be able to move the steering wheel slightly from side to side without any change in direction from the roadwheels. The car will also become increasingly difficult to keep in a straight line on a heavily rutted or cambered road as these components become increasingly worn.

Not sure why they call them "lower" control arms (wishbones), since there are no upper ones. So, yes...the terms are referring the same bushings.

Track rod ends are not expensive, and can be easily replaced as a DIY project....probably in an hour or less. Be careful to take good measurements (and count the number of turns when unscrewing the old ones). Even doing this, you really should get the alignment checked after replacement. The track rod ends are not expensive...around 20 quid per side. Also be adivsed that there are track rods...and track rod ends. More common for the ends to wear...but some have alss replaced the track rods too. Both can be found here. http://www.partsforvolvosonline.com/default.php?cPath=2

Thanks for your responses.

I'm going to buy some polybushes online and then get PWcars do install them. I use them for servicing my car so hopefully a bit cheaper than a volvogarage.

Thank you
