Hi all, i know this isn't a new thread, but just wondered if any of you who had a worn clutch position sensor experienced pulsing idle before you replaced the sensor? My 2.0T S60 is currently pulsing on idle and at fist i thought it was the dreaded ETM, but as i mentioned in one of my other posts, when i push the clutch down to just above the bite point, the idle instantly smoothes out to normal. Anyone think it's worth replacing the sensor first before i plump for a new ETM?
Ta in advance!

Could do - mine felt as though the clutch 'grabbed' - so not smooth just before bite. Worth changing - its cheap and easy.

there is a software upgrade (ECM) for intermittent cps readings,it allows more tolerance for missing/intermittent readings.

but if the clutch master cylinder has a leak that drips onto the sensor it is recommended to replace both.

fiddly and painful job !

Hi mate where did you get the cps from? I'm after one for my v70d5 2009

Even if you have no mechanical knowledge you can change the sensor. I got mine in July last year from FRF and the details (for my 03 V70 D5) are:

CLUTCH POSITION SENSOR:
P/no: 9472979
Retail Price: £36.43 inc vat
Our Price: £30.96 inc vat, plus postage
Postage: £1.67 Royal Mail 2nd Class Recorded Delivery
Availability: Same day or next day, then sent with Royal Mail

As long as the clutch is working ok, and you aren't having to top up the fluid, do the sensor first and then monitor the master cyl.

Regards
