Default How to reactivate Volvo On Call

I have a 2016 Volvo XC90 with Volvo On Call. My On Call subscription recently lapsed and I would like to renew it.

Looking through the app and on the volvocars.com/uk site, I am told that I need to take the car to a dealsership to reactivate Volvo On Call. I called my dealership who said that this is possible to do myself by "holding down a button for a second or two to reconnect the Volve On Call app".

I was wondering if anyone here has some clearer instructions on what i need to do to reactivate my Volvo On Call subscription?

1) Buy a new subscription from https://www.volvocars.com/uk/volvo-o.../subscription/
2) Get sent a code/PIN via email
3) ???

Thanks,
Eddy

Hi,

Saw this advertised recently, seems good value, worth a try for your renewal?

Your dealer is very familiar with how it is done why not call in ? It's worth a chat as you are sure to learn something about the process.

Thanks, paul, but that is pretty much the same price as the official Volvo app & site are charging. The 1yr price is a little bit more I think.

I think I might have to. My dealership is not very close to me and I don't head down that way very much. Perhaps they will talk me through it over the phone...

Mine lapsed and I had to get the dealer to restart it - cost me an extra £30 or so to have the dealer restart it, plus the new annual cost...

That's interesting, thank you. Do you know what the dealer had to do? Good to know it was "only" a £30 surcharge

The imposed surcharge by dealers may make the offer at #2 above more cost effcetive as no surcharge is mentioned in their renewal offer?

They had to plug it into something to update it, seemed odd that it's not just a remote thing at VOC HQ - just looked back at invoice and it has a code 39481 - "VOC reactivation", at £25+vat, then £55.34+vat for 2 years extension (part number 32224294)

I think that one is to renew the licence before it expires, once it expires you have no choice but to have a dealer re-activate it - and then you could purchase that licence if it was still cheaper
