I have had a drumming noise from the front of the car which seems linked to the speed of the car , noise is always there, but more noticeable when slowing down. Volvo have replaced front wheel bearings and still no change, also relaced NFS drive shaft. Can anyone help.

RE: V40 1997 SE Auto
Hi There,
I Have also had the same thing with the rear of the car. I took it to my mate at ATS and he said it was the tyres!?!? Whan we inspected them we found that the tyres were slightly castlated, every other tread block on the inside edge was slightly higher??!!??. (Goodyear Eagles). Once we checked the manufacture date we found that the tyres were at least 4 years old(ie origional rubber) so i changed all 4 and guess what Silence!!! I had been told by dealer that the rear bearings and bushes needed replacing!! Have a look at the inside edge and feel if the tread blocks are uniform on the inside edge and let me know. Hope this helps Steve >I have had a drumming noise from the front of the car which >seems linked to the speed of the car , noise is always >there, but more noticeable when slowing down.
