Default Spare Plugs in the boot - Amp or Sub??

Evening
Ive now had my 08 V70 D5 for 4 months and its driving better than ever.

Ive got the Dynaudio sound system and while looking in the boot I noticed there are two plugs in the boot that Im not sure if they are to do with the sound system.

If you look in the boot with the floor lifted, just where the spare wheel is to the left there are two plastic plug connectors that are coming from the front of the car. Are these for the sound system and if so what are they for?

If it is for a Sub can you get adaptor plugs and fit a 3rd party one?

Thanks

Richard

I don't know - but I will check mine tonight - and compare. I have just the Performance setup.

Do you have the Sat-Nav?

Thanks guys
I havent got Sat Nav or a tow bar.
thinking about it it could be the tow bar but I would have expected that to be nearer the rear of the car.

Ill get a photo tomorrow night and post it up.
Does anyone on here have a new shape V70 with a rear sub?

Regards

Richard

If you are talking about 2 plugs on the left hand side close to the hinge (IE closest to the rear seats) - 1 is used for the towbar electrics - with a cable running from the socket along the wheel recess and down to the towbar.

The other one - I am not sure about.

Thanks
I'll find out shortly as my cars currently at the Volvo garage having its DVD fixed (sound only comes out of one side) and the window sensor on the passenger side sorted out (on one touch close it goes half way up and then reopens)

While its down there Im going to get them to take a look and then get a quote for a sub..... looking on the other forums though I may need to sit down as it looks like its £250 for the sub and then £250 for the software update to drive it!!

one plug is for tow bar wireing and is made live by adding 15amp fuse in rear fuse box.
other plug is for sub speaker option, powerd by adding a 20amp fuse to rear fuse box.

I would have considered getting the subwoofer if it was cheaper but although Dynaudio was (only) AU$930, the subwoofer was a further AU$1280. The price differences between markets are somewhat weird...

I would be interested to hear if a Third Party install is easy or not...

One of my clients is a car audio company so I'll have a chat with him when I go and see him next week

the worry is that you need software to drive the sub from the head unit!
