VIDA isn't just "OBDii software" - whilst in can be used with Dice to communicate with the OBD port, VIDA also includes the Volvo parts catalogue and acts as an interactive workshop manual.

VIDA is the software that is installed on the computer. That contains all the info you can imagine about Volvos, as well as the diagnostic section that is used with the DICE (the reader).

You can install VIDA on yoru computer, without the need to have a diagnostic tool. You will be able to navigate through it and find the info you need, such as part numbers and guides

Worse comes to worse, and the lock is jammed locked, you will have access to the two screws that hold the bottom part of the lock to the car. They are a torx35 or 40, can't remember. By undoing those two bolts, you will be able to open the boot and have more access to the lock to troubleshoot
