Same problem - tail lock won't open
I have similar problem: the tail lock does not open, nor with the mechanical key. When I press the central locking, the tail lock gives sound but it won't open the lock mechanism.
Shall I replace the lock mechanism? If yes, I think I need to remove the inner tailgate panel from the boot side (as I can not open the tailgate) but I have no idea how to do it: after removing the two screws at the handle I can not easily remove the cover. |

Once the cover is off, you should see a rod going from the push button to the lock mechanism. this may have become disconnected from the lock. If it has you should still be able to see where it connects on the lock. Just manually operate the lock to undo.

And what if the lock mechanism went wrong and the rod is in the position? The central locking does not open the lock...

Not quite sure where you go if you cannot operate the lock manually from the push botton rod. The central locking has an electric motor attached to the lock which operates the lock - it may be possible to operate the central locking mechanism by hand to get the lock unlocked. Fortunately, I have never had to investigate the problem, so cannot give you precise instructions - however, there are only two ways to operate the lock, either central locking or the outside push button. See where these operate the lock and do it manually.
