I think if you look at the length and width of the F-Pace, it is actually 'in-between' the XC60-90, GLC-GLE, X3-X5, Q5-Q7. Of course with the XC60 having grown a little, and the new X3 just previewed (also grown a little), the distinctions are blurred.

I normally don't like the Tiguan looks but I saw the latest shape in Winchester service few months back and really liked it. With this R line they have improved it hugely.

R line was flagged as the one to avoid in one review l read due to the poor ride. The shape is a big improvement though and obviously selling well as lots starting to appear.

Don't like the look of the front personally, especially the lower half, far too "busy".
Might look better in a dark colour where those black surrounds don't stand out so much, but in that colour looks a mess. Side and back look OK. To be honest, not really liking the styling of any of the VWs at the moment......

Must admit this model did strike me as a possible option after your issues with the F-Pace, definitely an excellent alternative. Would love to hear your review of your 1st period of ownership of this car.

Nigel, will do tomorrow. No time tonight.
RR Velar D300 R-dynamic, Corris Grey. Arrives September having ordered it in May after rejecting the Jaguar F-Pace. JLR have demonstrated their remorse with more than just words, see below. The manufacturing fault on our F-Pace was poor. When things go wrong it's the response that is all-important and, after an initial shaky start, JLR decided to go all-out on a charm offensive The XJ was delivered as a replacement back in May for the dealer's own supplied courtesy car (that was an F-Pace 3.0d V6 S) and it is ours until the RR Velar arrives. We had a choice of three different cars from JLR and this is the one we chose. We've never had a car with cooled and massage seats before - rather lovely when on a long trip from Scotland to Les Frasserands, Chamonix in the Summer! And the 17 speaker Meridian tri-field surround sound hifi is exquisite as the car wafts along silently on her air suspension. No charge - the cheapest motoring we have ever had!!! She came with all of the paperwork and cover for our holiday in the French Alps (here shown on the road to the Emosson Dam in Switzerland) and they even insured the lad which, at 25, is pretty good going on a 300bhp XJ. It is just one element of the compensation package that JLR have rolled out to us. Full story to follow... Arianne
