  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.

Ordinary springs are those used with standard shocks. Soft springs are used with Nivomats. If you swap in standard shocks with soft springs, the back end will be lower. If you never load the boot/cargo area or have back seat passengers the ride will be comfortable but a bit uncontrolled at the back. Hard/HD springs generally for Estates that have a lot of heavy loads. Volvo used to list more than one rating of HD springs but probably now only available as aftermarket.

Years ago I installed HD springs in the rear of my 245. I ended up doing the front as well. I used bilstein shocks all round. I enjoyed the firm ride it gave, but would skip around on gravel and corrorgated roads.
