Gear box issue
Hi all i am jason new to the forum.
I have a 59 plate Volvo V70 Rdesign auto. Every now and again i seem to have an issue with it going through the auto gears. It seems to struggle going from 1-2 revs go upto 3000 and then it kicks in and flies. This isn't happening all the time though, seems as though there could be a blockage of some sort that clears and it then drives fine. It only happens when coming through low gears. Some days i can drive it and it is perfectly ok. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Jason |

1) head to the dealership to see if there are any transmission s/w upgrades available.
2) Consider replacing the transmission fluid.

Have had this and it was eventually traced to wiring loom shorting/upsetting box. Wiring not related to box at all but still upset things. Took ages (= money 😞 to locate but then easy to fix.

I would strongly recommend a transmission fluid change.
If that doesn't fix it then you will likely need a new valve body in the gearbox, this can be replaced without removing the gearbox, but not a particularly easy job. |
