Unlocked Door
Some toe-rag turned over my partner's car - she probably left it unlocked unfortunately - so just in case I had too, I checked last night when I took the dog for a walk. I happened to check the OSR passenger door and I was amazed to be able to open it but as soon as I did, the alarm went off!
So I obviously pressed the button to lock it and that sets the alarm but how come the door was unlocked?! I can't speak for any other doors as to whether they were/weren't locked. I recycled the alarm and the door was definitely locked this time and is still locked this morning.

Sounds like a faulty lock. Mine was like that - got it replaced by the garage selling it. VIDA showed it as faulty which was how I picked it up as part of the test drive: otherwise would not have thought to test such a thing.

Hi Simon, thanks
Definitely a faulty lock as I tried repeatedly yesterday to lock it and it wouldn't until I reached over and manually engaged. You mentioned VIDA - does installing a new one need access to this to work do you know?

I'm not aware that VIDA is required when fitting replacement lock. Quite a few people have stripped the unit and been able to repair, either with new motor or just by lubricating mechanism.

Either replace the lock actuator mechanism or strip and repair it . It's been on here quite often and a search will give required info. No Vida or programming required.
