Default Insuring an R-Design Pro

Anyone else had issues with this? Putting my reg number into the comparison sites brings up the car no problem. However, I'm with an insurance provider that famously isn't on these sites, and according to them, my car doesn't exist. Apparently they use the DVLA database, and the lovely people in Swansea don't think my car exists either.

There's an R-Design.

Yes, there's something about 235D5 and PowerPulse.

But no sir, there's nothing about Pro.

I've received a letter from them acknowledging my (and more importantly Volvo's) description, and in it they've confirmed that my car is correctly insured, but I sincerely hope this doesn't come back to bite me one day...

According to the DVLA, My XC90 Momentum Pro is an XC90 Momentum. I was more worried about the re-sale value than the insurance, TBH.

Quite often this is the case as the vehicles are built as a "momentum/R-Design/inscription" and then have a "Pro" pack on them as far as the factory build goes.

This often filters through to the registration process as the DVLA don't see them as a separate variant. We've had the same before on SE/SE Premium Models of years gone by!....

Resale value wise, as long as wherever you are selling to "Re-Books" the vehicle with the correct Pro variant included you shouldn't have any issues. Insurance company wise... double check they're aware!.... any excuse not to pay out and they'll take it!....

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. I'm sure we could help.
If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of mu quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

Thanks, Dan, but I'm now sorted for this year.

Out of interest what does the ‘pro’ pack comprise of? As my V90 is recognised as an R design ‘pro’ on the insurance. But not specified on any other car details.

Hi,

What model year is your car? Also, what is the registration (PM it to me if you like) and I'll check if your car is indeed a Pro or not.

Kind Regards

Marc
