Default V50 Tailgate

I have seen loads of queries concerning the tailgate lock on the V50 and other models, normally that it won't open. Mine was the reverse, it wouldn't close, just bounced when you shut it, it started about a year ago and I found by taking the lock apart that there is a small electric motor driving a plastic wheel and worm assembly. I managed to repair the broken shaft by putting a pin in each side with a bit of glue to keep it together, that has lasted for about a year. This time it was unrepairable so bite the bullet, buy a new lock mechanism, blimey £127, breakers were anything from £45 plus VAT and P&P, and do you know what you are getting, could be broken when it arrives, or last 10 minutes. Tried my local Volvo dealer here in France, absolute joke same item here is more than 250€, that's twice the price of the UK, how they get away with it is beyond me surely the retail price isn't that much dearer here. So back on EBay there are a couple of outlets selling just the plastic wheel and worm assembly at about £7 plus P&P, hopefully it will arrive next week, and we will see if it works, then it's going up for sale, nice car but not comfortable to get in and out of with bad back. V50D5 2.4. what's it worth?

Received today and apart from my haste to get it together, it, after reassembling properly works ok, Dynamic parts at Stevenage, evidently he is a bit of a hermit and the listed phone number didn't work for me but part sent and arrived and works thereby saving the cost of a new lock.
