Went out this morning and all was OK. On the way home I noticed that we were shown as off road in the middle of a field? As you drive along the position arrow occasionally shows you crossing a road, not the one you are actually on, but are mostly in fields next to the road and then can jump on to the road and then back into the field.

The system is receiving 8 satellites and shows

Received position
Latitude 53deg 11' 03" N
Longitude 001deg 01' 40" W

And a Map matched position of
Latitude 53deg 09' 033"N
Longitude 001deg 00'54" W

From the map these two position are about 3 miles apart.

I have looked in settings and there is nothing obvious other than a complete reset. I have also disconnected the battery for about an hour with no change on reconnection.

Any ideas guys?

it may be the scale of the map as I get this when driving in rural locations that the may hasn't been scaled to display - change the scale to 0.2ml or less and you may find that you will be on a road rather than the middle of nowhere (which you aren't anyway )

Thanks for the reply. I normally run on the latgest 1/8th mile scale to show all the local roads. The problem is that whilst driving along I am not sown on any of them and on the odd occasions when I am shown on a road it is not the one that I am actually on.

To me it seems odd that I have a received position and a map position which are different!

I had the same issue, eventually as I drove around my home town in Wensleydale ,the nav showed me in the sea off Whitby!!! I rang the local dealer he diagnosed over the phone that it was likely the sat nav antenae , he pre-ordered one, and booked me in next day to fit it.Problem solved never to return, and very good service.

Thanks for the reply, I had my suspicions even though the system is receiving 8 satellites. I have the car booked in tomorrow so hopefully they will be able to fix it.

Went out this morning to do the Longhorn 5k Nordic walk at Thoresby Park. 1st in age group again but then only one over 70 daft enough to do it.

Off road as per previous posts all the way there, but on the way home all was back to normal. When I arriv ed home checked and the two positions were exactly the same. Still no idea what went wrong. Hopefully it will stay the same
