I'd get some H&R springs for £150 odd.
The shocks don't last forever on these cars though and are known to mist up/weep oil overtime so I'd get a full set of Bilstein B4 coils and replace the lot while it's in bits. Saves doing the job twice if/when your shocks go.

you probably need to be sure what kind of ride you want really. I have had both lowering coils and coilovers for my S40.
Eibach lower coils Reduced the massive wheel gap with these cars but still a lot of roll in the corners. mated with the oem dampers ride was still very nice. Bilstein B14 coilovers Reduced the wheel gap even further on the lowest setting and body dramaticly reduced, near enough corners flatish for these cars ... need bucket seats to hold me in now. Ride is .... very firm in the politest way, but it is a joy on the track to drive. They are adjustable but the dampers are fixed so will probably still be as firm no matter how high I might raise it.

I see many springs are lowering by 30 or 35 mm but I'm not sure how much of a drop that really is.. how much of the gap does it take away Have you got any pictures of yours with the springs and also with coilovers? Also springs are pretty cheap but coilover set is alot more right ? |
