Thanks for your response.

There is a seatbelt recall outstanding on the vehicle.
When I get it booked in for this, I'll ask them for an 'ECM Update and ask about new adapting routines'. Is there nothing regarding adapting routines I could do via dice?

It will be a few weeks until it's booked in with volvo, though.
I need to get it to its well overdue timing belt appointment next week first.

Is it worth taking the egr off. Giving it a clean, then doing the re calibration on vida? It is on 118k and no history of EGR replacement or cleaning?
if the car was serviced properly it would get the free volvo whole car updates at every service . so it is unlikely it has the latest ECU software EGR will be fine unless there is a fault code for it .
Unlike the volvo engines , The 1.6 Diesel waterpump is liable to leaks so get them to check that whilst the belt is being done .

The car had a full Volvo service history up until 3 years ago.
It hasn't seen a dealership since. (To my knowledge)

Yes, the timing belt includes a new water pump as well as aux belt. Its a local place and all they do is timing belts. That's being done for £375. They said they only use parts from 3 major manufacturers, such as gates and a few others.

I did read somewhere on a Peugeot or Citroen forum something regarding the adaptation process for injectors. They should all have a no7, meaning they have learned. If they're at 0 it means they haven't gone through the adaptation process. This individual kept teaching the injectors but after a power cycle they would always revert back to 0. He ended up in having to buy a new ECM. Hopefully not something I'll have to do but its speculation at this point
