Part Exchanging

I would urge members to be careful when dealing with the Volvo dealer, Stratstone Ilford.

I'd bought my Volvo at that dealership in 2000, and part-exchanged it there recently when I was told that the car I was acquiring was an ex Volvo manager's car. It turned out to be an ex Hertz rental car. I should have checked the registration document at the time, but having used the dealer over some time, not least for servicing and parts, I just didn't.

The misrepresentation was admitted by the dealership, the transaction has been reversed, and I now have my original Volvo back, but it's been disappointing to say the least to have been through the process.

Me checks logbook of our S60 D5 SE, sold similar to us as an ex Manager/Demo car.

All's ok, first reg'd to Squire Furneaux. Phew!

BTW - There's nothing wrong with an ex-rental car.

They have been driven fron new by a mix of drivers, some slow, some fast.....the best way to run-in a car.
