Default Rear reading lights...

So after having reading lights in the rear of my last 3 Volvos and never using them, now the kids are old enough to want to use them and it seems my new v60 doesn’t have them. The rear ceiling light has two lights but no buttons in the middle, they only work with the interior courtesy lighting and come on together.

Before I chat to the dealer, has anyone swapped the module for one with reading light switches successfully? I can see two potential issues - one getting the part and two of it needs programming (I hope not - it’s just a light!)

Thanks!

Mine has buttons by the light - by the side?

You can control the brightness by holding the button - I am assuming yours is the same?

Nope, basic spec momentum and it has no buttons for the rear lights at all :-(

Ah OK, I assumed it would be the same.

I would of thought that a Premium car like Volvo would put buttons on lights - seems like a miserly omission.

I would think that the modules would fit from one with buttons, assuming all the electronics are in the module.

A work around might be to turn on all lights and then switch off the front ones from the console on top of you.
