Default Rear distance sensors.

Hi guys, has anyone in volvo land any idea how to turn off the reversing sensors on my 2015 V70 2.4 SE Lux, these are factory fit ones. I've recently had a detachable tow bar fitted but not by Volvo, as you can imagine when i select reverse with a trailer hooked up they continually sound. On my old Volvo V70 I fitted after market reverse sensors myself and anticipating this problem I fitted a switch on the supply side which simply turned off the power to the rear sensors.
As i don't have a wiring diagram i cannot identify the power feed plus with all the modern electronics should I be messing or should i take to an auto electrician.

I don't know if the '15 differs radically from the '12, but in this respect there is a on/off button for the distance sensors at the bottom right of the central console. It turns off the whole system but the front ones are hardly any use when you are driving and worse when stuck in traffic as you really don't need to be told that you are five feet from the car in front! The handbook should show the button.

My '15 model has the same button to turn the sensors off. The Volvo dealer loaded the trailer software when it was serviced. (I did ask that they do it.)

If the proper software is loaded it will automatically turn off the sensors when the rear plug on the tow bar is in use. No need to do anything.

That does take you have a proper Trailer module, TRM, though. Volvo's or something emulating it.

Default Tatsfield is correct....

Yes, there is a button bottom right of the centre console that switches off the reversing sensors. Only for that journey though, it has to be pushed again if you re-start the engine. So no need to worry about new software etc. See pic attached.
