2003 v70 D5244T Rear ABS sensor
BCM-0031 from my code reader - wheel sensor left rear, faulty signal.
silly question, is the left the drivers side ( UK ). sensor looks clean and undamaged. Car has covered nearly 200k and is about to be serviced, MOT'd, and have a cambelt kit done. I dont want to do the rest of the stuff if i cant sort the ABS error out. Are the sensor connections under the rear passenger seat ? Any advice gratefully receved. |

There is a connector under the rear passenger seat, but also have a look at your wheel bearing. The bearing functions as the reluctor ring, using a series of magnets. A worn wheel bearing can cause ABS faults. To test the wiring of the sensor, you would need to perform a resistance check between the ABS module and the plug under the rear seat.

Left side is nearside, it would appear. Unplugged rear nearside sensor and got error BCM-0030 - left rear sensor no signal. so BCM is able to detect sensor is present ( resistance ? ). Does this mean sensor is ok ?. The wheel bearing has no discernable play and rotates smoothly. How easy is a bearing swap on these ?

BCM-0031 Solved
this was indeed the nearside rear ABS sensor. A straight forward replacement too as it turned out.
