‘02 xc70 front driveshaft - where from?
Have a 52 plate diesel Auto XC70.
FOS drive shaft inner/CV is on way out. My garage is struggling to find one from all the suppliers they use other than Volvo who want 33% of the cars value for one!! They ordered one today, thought they got the right one but was too long - 1006mm. They say mine is maybe 700mm ish and not 1006mm due to transfer box. Usual eBay type shops are saying they have them but description is saying it’s 1006mm which makes it too long. Help!!! Ideas? |

I suppose that FOS stands for Front-Offside, meaning driver side in England.
This driveshaft goes through the angular gearbox and is about 1 m long. My suggestion is that your garage removes the faulty driveshaft and compare it with the new. BR Hasse |

Is the inner changeable then? That’s good news. Didn’t think it was. Ideas as to where to find one as a search only throws up outers.

GKN is the OEM and sells under brands Spidan and Löbro.
There are different shafts for manual and auto, so check out their catalogue. http://ows-cdn.tecdoc.net/gkn/home.j...fcba086552f867

EDIT: sorry, I need to refer to XC model driveshaft instead of V70 AWD.

The catalogue refers to Spidan 25441 / Löbro 305664 if I understand that FOS in UK is the left, transmission side shorter driveshaft.

Is there an easy way (apart from VIDA) to tell the difference between AWD Haldex, AWD-pre-Haldex, XC, V70AWD and 2wd V70 driveshafts? I may need a new one but am not convinced the ~150euro completely new ones I sometimes find while searching will fit my car.
