Hello and Thanks for the reply

Its a fairly new intercooler I replace the rad and intercooler maybe a year and half ago.
I have checked and it doesn't seem bowed and there is no oil. I also checked the tubes all but the one that goes under the car to the turbo, the plastic par of it. but if you squeeze the tube at least you could listen it puff but there is no sound. I know its not a for sure method but....
Even with some tube cracked or even with the intercooler bowed I'm sure she would start. Maybe would not have any boost but I'm almost sure it would start....

Many Thanks

And here we are again. Ten days later, four pages and still nothing definitive...

Get the codes read!

If you had the engine light lit, there should be an error code stored, at least for that. You can check the fuel with VIDA as well.

It doesn't make sense, if you can't see something obvious, to guess along.

VIDA is "free of charge", and if you only buy a dice (or a substitute) you are around 100.- GBP. Here on this forum are some users, that sell these, eg. Cheshired5. Take a look into the "Sales" section of the V70 (click here)

Agree with above.

READ THE CODES!!!!!!!!

You say you have VIDA, it is the first thing you should be doing.

Yes, the above 2 posts are correct. ie, the first thing TO do but the first thing NOT to do is tell yourself "it shouldn`t be that" and then dismiss it without proof.
Vida is the way to go along with simple visual checks.

And therein lies the clue...you've most likely popped a boost hose or a hose clip wasn't properly done up after fitting the intercooler and worked itself loose.

Check and check again all associated rubber boost hoses and their clips.

But its already been said, this will not make the car breakdown or stop the car from starting. People drive around for months with broken boost pipes and popped intercoolers.

To me it sounds fuel related, however you could spend all day checking parts or just plug it in and code read it.

Now look...
He changed the intercooler a year to eighteen months prior (his words).
What caused the intercooler to fail ? It may be that he`s cured a symptom but not remedied the cause.
It could well be an overboost problem a duff sensor ( boost pressure) or faulty turbo control valve . The turbo vanes may be stuck . This is where VIDA comes in . This could be manifested as a fueling issue.
It may be none of the above but it has to be proven.
It may be the fuel pump etc but it has to be proven.
It may be the injectors , I could go on...
Just because VIDA says a part `aint working don`t mean it`s bust.

But the first step would be to know what VIDA says... You can turn and twist it all you want, VIDA is an essential part of a diagnosis, and without it, you will definitly need longer to find the fault.

It's as simple as it can be: get the codes read!

PS: ...and I'm out of this thread until we get the codes, as I said, ten days later, no answers and seeing, that the upcoming questions could already be solved by one tini tiny step -> get the codes read!

Hello to all. Hope you are all well and safe.

I have to thank you all for your comments...

I'm sorry about ..the ten days later...... but I worked my of days because it was needed. Like I said I'm a front line worker for NHS.
In 10 days I had 1 day off it was wen I put fuel in the car. My car broke down and I have to rely on a friend to come and pick me up for work.
I understand your point when you don't say nothing else until I read the codes. If all goes well I have Thursday Friday off then back to work weekend and don't until God knows when.
But I will twist and turn all I can so I can have my car back.

I will read the car on Thursday and I will come back with the results. I also think its fuel related.

I just have to thank EVERYBODY for helping me. And its good to know we have always good people on this forum ready to help.

Many thanks

Hello to all and hope you are all safe.

DAY OFFFFFFF!!!

SO I read the codes .........it looks like a shopping list. But I also believe some of them are there because the car is not running.
I have posted photos in order.
See if you can detect something unusual that could cause my episode

Many thanks to All
