Default ECC Mind of it's own

I have had an on going problem with my ECC that I'm unsure where to go with.

The problem. The passenger side gets stuck blowing hot. Now I can fiddle about and get it to blow cold occasionally which tells me all the flaps and motors work. It will work for anywhere between 2 hours and a few days. Then all of a sudden it will start blowing hot again on the passenger side.

I've read the codes using Vol FCR and there are no codes stored. I can live view flap positions and everything seems to be working but sometime doesn't make the change from blowing hot to cold.Again no codes no flashing lights on the ECC unit. I have also given the little temperature fan thing on the dash a light clean and check.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is my ECC unit on it's way out? Any thoughts what I should try next?
