V60 D6 Speedo turning off and on

Has anyone experienced anything like the following that has just started happening on my MY16 V60 D6 PHEV. While driving, the speedo dial appears to turn off and immediately back on again, almost like the screen refreshes. This happens every couple of minutes.
The items on the display to either side are not effected. At no time can I not tell the speed since it is only off for a fraction of a second. I tried changing the display between hybrid, sport and elegance and was able to confirm it happens with all.
It is all slightly disconcerting and feels like it's going to cost me!

That's an odd one.

Is your 12v battery the original one from new ?
