Default Could somebody recommend a good injector cleaner?

Hi.
Could somebody recommend a good injector cleaner?
I would prefer stuff that really works.
I have been using Red-Ex for almost 1 year and no joy.
I would like to clean the injectors as the engine is 7 years old and I guess is quite a lot of build up inside them.

What do you use?

I'd remove them and send them off to someone for ultrasonic cleaning and flow testing.

Its about £50, but your injectors come back pretty much perfect, and you know they'll be good for a few years.

Google for a place local to you is the best bet.

Many garages and profesionals swear by products made by Forte.
I think you can ony get this if you are in the trade but im sure you will be able to get it somewhere. Many use it at a service or pre MOT as it does work and reduces emmissions etc.
What james is suggesting is the way to go if you can, but a good quality cleaner used annually will probably prevent clogging etc.
I havent used so cannot comment and always run diesels.

Use a bosch registered dealer or similar that has been on the go for a few years and you should be ok.
You could also try the terraclean system.

I got some from Camskill on line a couple of weeks ago. Can't comment yet as only done a quarter of a tank so far! I was put onto it by our local police workshop mechs who swear by it! (and, yes they said that they thought it was trade only)

this stuff is excellent

you make a "loop" system to run the car for about 20 mins high revs with just this going through the injectors

many videos how to do it , few lengths of tubing and a plastic bottle and some small jubilee clips etc

Do it yourself, All you need is some carb cleaner, a 15ml medicine syringe, a 12v 500ma supply and an injector connector with about 20cm of cable on it. Google DIY Injector clean, and look at the first 3 videos. O rings and pintle caps are available from these injector cleaner specialists.

You are basically making a circuit using the 12 volt supply, the syringe once seperated, makes an ideal seal over the end of the injector, (use silicone grease or Vaseline to get it sat on snug) you put the carb cleaner straw over the tip of the syringe and fill the syringe up with cleaner, make the circuit briefly and the injector will squirt it out, rinse and repeat a few times, and also backflush the injector by putting the syringe over the end of the injector. Do it into a small plastic tub and you can see what crud is dislodged through backflushing. It works, and it worked well for me. DONT use a power supply more than 500mA it will fry your injector.
After flsuhing, remove the pintle caps, and replace with the new ones, along with the o rings if you bought them.
