Default Air leak or electrical?

After recently doing the pcv on my 97 V70 t5 I started it up to find it making a popping noise (mini explosions) from the engine and revving as and when it liked. I damaged an injector frustratingly on removal so I fitted some refurbished ones hoping that was the problem but it made no difference. I dismantled the ptc nipple to clean it while doing the pcv and it seems that pushing down on it stops it trying to rev randomly but it's still popping which worries me. The car is undrivable as is and i'm back to work soon so any help would be appreciated. The ht leads and cap were supposedly replaced and it's Bougicord so what Volvo used but i'm wondering if i've damaged something during removal maybe, car drove perfectly fine before. I'm wondering if it's a manifold leak, presumably spraying carb cleaner around the manifold would help identify this? Would brake cleaner do the same job as I have no carb cleaner? I should add throttle body was cleaned too and isn't sticky, fitted a new gasket from Volvo at the same time. I'll try to get a video up later.

Cheers

Here's a short video of the popping I can hear, it generally doesn't rev when the ptc is held down but it did rev once although my dad may of moved it or something. The idle is trying to settle but can't, a quick check of my ht leads didn't show anything obvious. I believe it's an air leak on the bloody manifold .

Just throwing out some ideas...

Have you had the distributor cap off to check for moisture and it's overall condition?

Retrace your steps. Disconnect, inspect and reconnect the electrical plugs you removed in order to get the manifold off. Paying particular attention to the injector you replaced and, with the engine running, try wiggle the wiring to that injector and or disconnect the plug to see if it makes any difference.
I would recommend a very light smear of silicone grease to the terminals when reconnecting any electrical plugs.

Not sure if the PTC heater would cause that symptom but check the terminals on the male/female plugs and that the wiring harness is not damaged.

sure you havent left your mate in an inlet runner with only a hammer to tell you hes in there? lol, sorry

sounds misfire-ish, like its not firing on one cylinder smoothly.

as above, check dis cap and contacts for arc damage, also bell out the HT leads with a meter.

if it was a mechanical fault (injector/valve etc) it would be continuous or atleast far more frequent IMO rather than the randomness of it all

not saying im right, its just a suggestion
