Default Decoding The VIN Number.

I'm confused. Somewhere in my travels around this site, somebody posted a breakdown of what the numbers and letters of the VIN actually mean. Mind doesn't seem to conform or correspond to the answer posted.

My VIN is as follows:
YV1AX4726E2244840

Anyone out there with any insight?

YV1=Manufacturer code.

27= Engine type.B200FT.

7= gearbox. AW 70/71.

N= Model year. 1992.

******= unique chassis number.
Well that's mine but I can't work yours out at all.

US must have used a different designation.

Our VIN decoder doesn't seem to fit.

Default Vin

AX designation in the VIN is USA and Canada only and signifies A = model only and X (depending on year) door and seat belt configuration?????
It's an 'over the pond' thing!

Paul.

When in Rome act like the Romans. Look at this, has a US VIN decoder somewhere.

Doesn't mention the B200 and B230 engines [mine's a '27', B200F].

The VLVworld list includes some, but not their VIN designations.

Maybe a Moderator could update the VIN Decoder? (Here's hoping.)
