I feel sorry for the younger driver. I pay under £230 for my T5.

In some ways so do I and in some ways I do not! Younger drivers account for a high proportion of claims, due to their inexperience, and sometimes their aggressive style of driving - so in some respects I would like to see their insurance bill tripled to keep them off the roads..!!! On the other hand it is a shame to penalise all young drivers due to the silly antics of some, and its a shame these black box insurances, whilst offering a cheaper way into first insurance, aren't even cheaper still, thus rewarding the sensible younger ones.

Regards

Luckily as the years pass car insurance becomes a lot more manageable for younger drivers.

When I started driving Phil my Renault megane 1.6 16V was £2280 for a year! I was paying £179 per month which was insane! I still don't know why I bothered at the time, but I guess it was ok since I barely did any miles and didn't need to fork out for a lot of fuel.

..and so will I rub it in...lol.....because my quotes were similar coming in under £250 and as low as £220. Even with no application of ncd it was still 'reasonable' around the £520 mark!! Diesels were actually dearer!!
