v40 tailgate lights

Bought a 2001 1.8 v40s a month ago and very please we are with it but noticed the other day that non of the lights in the tailgate are working. All the other lights are fine just the the tailgate ones. Have checked the bulbs, all good, and all the fuses are ok, any ideas any one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

check the wiring loom that comes from the car body, through to the tailgate, this can become fractured by constant opening of the tailgate over time,just peel the rubber bellowed grommet back, and inspect each wire.

A common problem on most Volvo estates and you just replace the broken wires that go into the tailgate.
