Made up and fitted the wiring loom for my passenger footwell light.

Fitted the lamp to the kick panel under the glove box and then fed the wires up the A post and across to the roof light - I want the light to work when all doors are open and have the theatre light facility.

I wrapped the wires in cloth loom tape - the first time I have used this and it is so easy to make an original looking loom, so much easier than PVC insulation tape. I bought a roll of 19mm wide 'Tesa' loom tape off ebay and thoroughly recommend it.

All the 'bottom end' is finished, just waiting for when my lad comes home so he can connect it to the interior light. He works in telephony and thinks he can connect the wires direct to the plug in the roof light - if not it can be spliced and heat shrink wrapped.

So the drivers will still be on the door switch?
Sounds like your spoiling you passengers a bit though!

Yes, all the wiring and how the lights work will remain original. the only addition will be the loop from the front roof light to the additional light in the footwell. The rear roof light is looped from the front roof light, so it is just one more loop.

Your installation inspired me, but I wanted the footwell light to stay on once the doors are shut and work on all the doors.

No idea to be honest, I'm just getting the car up to spec ready for a 19T. With the 14T it should pick up a lot quicker, cooler denser air turbo's love, so it'll all helps.

If I stick a 19T on there now it'll be over heating and EGT's and IAT's will be way too high. With a large downpipe, 200 cell race CAT and the intercooler everything will stay nice and cool and heat soak won't be so much of an issue.

I'm getting a Devils Own methanol/water injection kit in a few weeks which I'll install - That'll help things along nicely too.

With the 19T and Ashoks software it'll be running around the 320-330bhp mark hopefully with long term reliability.

Next up after turbo will likely be clutch. I've been advised the standard DMF and T4 clutch setup is actually more than up to the power. No doubt I'll be convinced to fit a gripper (LSD) while it's apart, I'm waiting to see how good they are at Castle Combe this year though

Moved the v40 from the garage to the driveway for a wash. Noticed a shiny, new, and LARGE, oil puddle on the garage floor. VVT cam gear sprayin' oil like a squirt gun.

...moved the v40 back to the garage.

Took the diesel out for a spin earlier seen as it's the T4 that's been seeing all the action.

The car is out of bounds at the moment, keys locked in the safe. I finally had my second heart op yesterday, came home this morning. All went well and three more stents fitted - five in total. Second op more complicated than the first and touch and go whether I needed a bypass op - but just got away with the stents. So no driving for two weeks and gradually work up to full fitness and return to work.

Surgeon said I have defied medical science as I should not still be alive, so it seems I have knocked on Heaven's door and been told to come back later.
All this for someone who is 5' 11' 12.5 st 42 chest 32 waist and has always eaten healthily, never smoked and been active and fit all my life.

No key to anything itsv40 it can sometimes be hereditary, stress related, also you say eaten healthy did you eat a lot of dairy that furs up youre artery's. My mate is the same slim healthy and he had a heart attack because he soley lived on cheese in the main and it furd up his artery was a shock when he had his aswell, main thing is though youre alive and still with us.

Most likely hereditary, my mother died of a massive stroke at 36 when I was 18months old. I did ask the rehab nurse, why me, as I have always led a healthy lifestyle. She replied, your 60 aren't you? Well if you had not led the lifestyle you have, you would have been here when you were 40.

She's right mate I used to like my donor kebabs because on the face of it it's healthier than fish and chips, Chinese and other takeaways bit of meat all the salad and a bit of bread can't be that bad, I stopped eating them when I read how bad they actually are lol I opt for the chicken or the lamb kofte one now it's a shame because there is something about devouring a donor kebab that is very pleasent lol. Get well soon pal. I try and drink water through the day but I still have my treats I had a Chinese last night and I like my red wine and cider and my double scotch in the evening although not all together.
