Default Tailgate lock without battery xc90 2007

Hi guys. I've seen a lot of threads about how to open the tailgate if the battery is dead, but not even one how to lock the tailgate without the battery. Can someone assist me on that matter? Thanks and Regards

Power up the car using another battery and jump leads attached to the terminals under the bonnet as per user manual, lock the car with the remote, them remove the 2nd battery...

Have you got a towbar and electrical connector (for towing a caravan etc) fitted to your car?

If yes - then google search for the permanent live socket/pin on the connector and make up a suitable lead with a 7 or 13 pin connector (depending on what you have fitted - if you do...) on one end and a couple of meaty croc clips on the other.

If no - or all this sounds too difficult, then don't use this method.

Instead, get a friendly neighbour to place his car alongside yours and, with a pair of booster cables (jump leads), connect as suggested by Tannaton above.

This assumes you actually have a battery in your car??

If not, make sure the battery leads (in the boot) are insulated from the bodywork of the car.

Cheers

Dave
