Default What does this button do?

Just got a V40 and there's a button on the dash that's a bit of a mystery to me. I haven't had a chance to take a pic of my car's dash but if you check out this pic on another website (linked to it, not copied)...

The button I'm wondering about is to the left of the Info Centre control knob. Right below where the passenger heated seat button would be (if this dash had one).

The graphic on the button in question is an outline of a car with what look like waves spreading from the roof into the interior.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Will almost certainly be to deactivate the interior sensors for the alarm. My S60 has a very similar button as does my Fathers V40.

Recirculate - takes air from inside the car, and blows it back through the heater system. Handy if you can see a bonfire or stinky exhaust in front of you. Press it, and you won't get the smoke/smell entering the car.

I'd go along with IMAC it turns off the interior protection and also turns off the motion sensors ( for use on ferries etc)

When you push it and turn the car off the info centre should show something along lines of "Reduced protection" when you turn the car back on it will show "full protection"

I used to try and remember to use when leaving the dog in the car, but usually forgot and the alarm went off. We are all only human and as a result are not perfect.

Thanks!

The symbol on the button fits with the explanations - i.e. that it turns off the interior alarm protection.

I'll give it a try.
