Johnsons Gloucester, did me a favour!
Just thought tell you about my experience with Johnsons.
I bought some service stuff for my wifes T4 yesterday. it's a 98 and you have to reset the service light with a gizmo....no other method has ever worked. I chance my arm when I can so asked them if there was anyone who could reset my service light for a tenner....bless them they said "yes no problem Sir" and came out to the car and did it for free! So my advice to anyone who has the service light on if you don't want to buy the tool, buy the service stuff from a dealer then ask them to turn it off for a couple of quid. Fair play to Johnsons very good at customer service...I'll go back there. Chris Last edited by ZacAttack; Nov 2nd, 2007 at 10:47. |

I bought my V40 new from there in 1999 (just before Johnsons took over) and they've looked after it ever since.
Their customer service has always been excellant. The only complaint I would have is the usual gripe about excessive labour charges. Its going in there for 120,000 service and MOT in a couple of weeks' time. Last edited by TonyM; Nov 2nd, 2007 at 09:34. Reason: Spelling ! |

Just so you know, there is a simpler method than involving the dealer.
RESETTING SERVICE LAMP ON 1999 S40/V40 1, Hold down the odometer button 2, Turn the ignition so all the lights come on 3, Keep holding the odometer down for 30 secs or until the service light starts flashing 4, Release the odometer button |

Unfortunately that method doesn't work with earlier models. For models up to early 1999 it has to be done by the dealer.
