It always dismays me when dealers badly let a customer, and usually the brand they represent down. I have been fortunate that my dealer has supplied my last 3 cars (2 non volvo) and has consistently over-delivered regardless of salesperson, service desk or other interactions. They were a big factor in choosing volvo - the local BMW, Merc and Audi dealers had plenty horror stories along the lines you have described. It's simply incomprehensible to me. Nobody wins out of it at all.

If it's not on contract hire, bypass the dealer and get straight onto Volvo UK customer services, tell them the situation and say that this experience has fallen WELL short of your expectations of a premium brand like Volvo, and say that you expect a hire car to be provided at no cost to you while you wait for the dealer to fix the problem. Tell them you know it's a widespread problem, but that is no reason for you to be inconvenienced and out of pocket. Good luck with sorting it. |

Not sure we are up to date here, has the dealer left you without a car or are you out still using your car and they will provide one in Feb when they take it for repair?
I really cannot see Volvo leaving you carless for any period for an issue that occurs during warrant.

Going back a few years, speaking from experience, and being the ''UK's Number One customer of Volvo Assist''... (read that as car constantly breaking down!!), speak firmly with all those concerned. On many occasions the dealership provided a car for longer periods, and when this was not possible, I ensured that any hire car provided by Volvo Assist was provided for a longer period as required, and that all costs would be covered. In writing btw. Quote:

Also @Bigbadbob it is worth noting that any repairs to sort your car should be 'with the least inconvenience to the customer'. Its a right.

I'd go Rage!
A few years ago my top of the range Peugeot had electric problems. When the service dept. didn't have a courtesy car available the General Manager went ot his office, took his jacket off the back of his seat, had a dig around in his pocket and gave me his car keys for the 8 days it took them to source the spares and sort the problem.
Sure, it was a couple of years old and he had to take his family detritus out of the car, but it was his car... That is why we still buy Peugeots from that dealer when they've got the right model in the range for our needs... Time to name and shame I reckon; a few emails from other forum members should help change their minds. |
