Back home after a “brilliant” holiday.
Kerbed the rear near side wheel ,
Came home to a speeding fine , 37 in a 30. My speedo said 35 max as I was passing a cyclist & a bend was coming up, & to top it off the Volvo has an oil leak. Volvo assist are coming out to the house to put it on a low loader to take it to the dealers.
Can anyone recommend & darkened room 😥

oouch! For the speeding, are you contesting on any ground? Or have they offered you SA course?

I’m not contesting it, hopefully they offer a SA course. I’m in Scotland & the offence was in England, if it was the other way round you’re stuffed because Scotland doesn’t offer the option of SA course.

TBH, for that variance (limit vs actual), you will not be offered SA! Just a view from an LPT serving officer but my knowledge might be limited when it comes to Roads Policing!

A lot of areas in England, but not all, work on 10% + 9mph of the posted limit. So you might get a invite.

According to the paperwork I received I should be eligible for what they call “driver training course” . I’ve not had a speeding ticket or have attended a course in the last 3 years & I wasn’t doing more than 42 mph in a 30 mph zone.
Seemingly these courses are done online now & take 150 minutes @ a cost of £100.

Before I joined, I always use to differentiate 'em by Pre and Post 999 call :-) Pre 999 is C[ommunity] PT and Post 999 is L[ocal]PT.

I think there are more variables that straight cals but I am not a pro Roads Policing so won't know. If one's been pulled over, it is easier to gauge which way is it going to swing but with Cameras I am not so sure. If you've not had a course in the past, they might offer you one. They are pretty good courses to be quite honest, use 'em as a refresher and you'd be surprised at some of the statistics you'd hear/see during the course!
