2009 V50 diesel estate
Replacnig the rear pads and disks. The brake pads I have to put on are really odd, they have a load of metalwork on the back (pic below) https://imgbox.com/ROtWfLgq I believe the plain pad goes on the outer and the one with 'braces' goes inside near the caliper. Am I supposed to do something with the springs or just let them sit between the caliper end and backplate of the pad? thanks in advance Al. |

The one with the springs on the rear go on the inside and the springs slot down into a groove that's machined on the caliper piston. This stops the pads from rattling. Most pad designs just have an anti-rattle plate on the inner pad but this type are equally OK.
