Default Thule XT XXL Roof Box

Has anyone got one of these that can share an opinion please? I think this is what I want for my XC90. also, they do a set of 4 duffle bags for this...again, anyone got an opinion if these are worth the price and whether they make good use of space? Thanks

Hi, remfanuk

I use this box on a v90cc, absolutely no issues at all. Minimal reduction in mpg over a 2000 mile journey, slight increase in wind noise, but again hardly of notice. Secured to thule wing bars I found the entire set up very solid, along with the locking mechanism giving you confidence it is secured by not releasing the key until all locks activated.

I chose against the thule bags, they are lovely and well finished, but the price was not justifiable over holdall bags I already own to do the exact same job.

Hope this helps.

thanks for your response. is the v90 comparable to the xc90 in terms of size...I am thinking about the overhang over the windscreen. my worry is that it will have to sit far forward to enable the boot to be opened.

I imagine similar by length, if anything a slight bit shorter. Height is likely the biggest difference.

There is marginal overhang at the front, purely to allow the boot to open in full, however the design at the rear accommodates this well.

for some reason on Halfords website it states that this particular box is not suitable for my vehicle. I have no idea why it would say that. weird.
