What I think I'll do is..

I'll buy stuff for steering and make the swap myself, when in Poland. Then just finding a place to do the traction and that's it.

Dim can wait. Spokoluzik told me to give him a buzz when I'm ready and hell do it same day. That means driving across London, not my favourite task, I must say..

I recommend Lemförders for inner tie rods, however there are two types - for early SMI racks and later ZF racks. Also, I would get the outer tie rods also changed for proper ones (Lemf, TRW) if they've been there for a while and forget that tie rods even exist on that car.

The transition from SMI to ZF happened in 2003-2004 so your car is probably SMI but do make it sure by checking

The SMI inner tie rod boot has SMI logo embossed on it.
Here's a picture, the top one is SMI and lower is ZF rack. Notice the difference in piping connections, however very difficult to see in situ.
You can also give us or PM me your VIN code so I could check from VIDA.

These are right-hand-drive racks.
You can also check from FCP Euro, they also suggest for MY03 is OE number 274179 inner tie rod that is for SMI rack.

Hi mate.

my outer side driveshaft axle needs replaced, completely. (im a volvo noob and ignoramus with cars, forgive me for any technical slander here)

'Mine needed a full refurb to get the cv off the driveshaft.
CV, driveshaft refurb and all labour = £386
I didn't think that was bad as Volvo wanted ~£600 for the driveshaft alone

Did you pay for the job at a volvo dealership, or go local, then resell? did you sell without repairs? or scrap?
