Now sheet metal is a really good idea. I must admit, the sheet metal idea had crossed my mind, but I was going to use some V40 doors. By releasing the door skin, and then cutting a neat trailer width, making sure I get the swadge line incorporated in there somehow, the trailer would match the car. Sort of.
But, as it happens, I've built it now. And it's green, like I said. The rear and sides are removable, for if I ever need it to be just an empty frame for whatever reason, and are held in place with the type of bolts you'd use on a door. With the bolts in position, the wood is held fast.
I wanted to adapt the rear lights off the old Volvo, to form a type of light board. This idea has been abandoned in favour of El Cheapo trailer lights off ebay. I need to obtain a number plate. Not too bothered about it being legal, as long as it looks 'mostly' legal, because paperwork scares me. But we'll see how it goes.
Sorry about the missing images above. This is due to my server giving up it's final ghost, and me not being capable of fixing it in my current depressive state. I'll post some more pictures of it as soon as I can bring the machine back to function because I'm quite proud of what I've done.
I'd like to show it off a bit! It looks stunning! Well, as stunning as a trailer can for £18, a tin of paint I already had, a couple of old pallets and a good deal of ingenuity and determination.
