Hi unfortunately I haven't yet even worked on this project. I am just finishing my super-street B20 build. Picking it up tomorrow. It is still doable though. Here is what needs to be done:
1. Get a CAD drawing of the original Ellemann-Jakobsen cover. Or I could get a similar cover that is taller. 2. Make a complete cover from wood first. 3. Take that cover to the casting co. and they should be able to sand cast for cheap. 4. Do final machining. Add steel insert for the oil cap. Or get the largest possible inside dimensions, cast that, and machine the whole outside. Raw sand-cast parts can be polished, but it is tough. Machining the outside smooth might be easier. With this, other decisions: I could leave it up to the customer for finishing and paint. Or just cast the complete cover, flycut the top/bottom, drill holes and leave the rest to the customer. Right now, I can't promise when I might get to this. I will need to ask around. Previous business I worked for got in trouble with the FBI.
