940 2.3 SE turbo auto for sale

Hi All,
I have a N reg Volvo 940 2.3 SE turbo auto for sale in Palmers Green North London. Owned by my Mom for last 5 years, we need to get rid of it quite quickly as she has been gifted a new car. Needs some tlc, the two main problems are:

Gearbox a bit lazy changing gear

Rear tailgate will not close unless you lock it

Mileage is 200k+ but still pulls like a train and we have some service history from a Volvo dealer. The wheels are not the original ones.

Hi, I'm also interested in the car and could come and see it this evening or tomorrow. Is it the 7 seat model by any chance? Not quite sure how we can get in touch without putting our contract status over the internet though as we're both new members and so can't send PMs!

Thanks for the message, it is not a 7 seater unfortunately and the mot has run out now. I have looked at the old mot and there was only one recommendation which was a worn front tire that has been replaced.

I will be looking for £300 for the car as this is the scrap value plus a few parts and the tax refund.

Hi there 940forsale, I've now purchased a 940 so I'm no longer interested, but as a suggestion, why not take it for a new mot?

Even if it fails, the fail sheet will help any purchaser to gauge it's worth.

IIRC you mentioned the mileage had hardly increased and so there's (probably) not much that will have deteriorated in the last 12 months.

And if it passes, that's even better.

Alternatively, since an mot'd 940 will fetch high £300's I think you might need to reset your asking price.

Go on, take it for a test, make the Volvo's day!

They're worth it!

Thanks to all that have responded to my post and the advice (Charles). The car was sold yesterday and is now with its new owner who will carry on using it. Another 940 saved from the scrap yard. :-)
