On this thread approx page 50, end of 2015 early 2016 the good people like 007 and Tinkerer report the new engine map is a tactical fix with loss of power at sub 2000 revs. Fast forward to May 2018 and page 176 of this thread and that same 'fix' has been applied to my car.

Is this as good as it gets? Or is there a fix for the fix?
Good luck to everyone!

I had 3 EGR fixes done on my MY2015 V60 D4 manual and none affected performance or economy in any way. If performance has changed for you post-fix, get back onto the dealer and insist loud and long that they check the car over carefully.

I was very suspicious of ECU updates affecting the punchy performance, but a stopwatch and repeatable runs on a quiet road showed there was no difference after the fixes.

Thanks for the reply will get back to the garage. I found last night when I switched on the rarely used ECO+ mode the car was smoother. In normal mode the car is much slower at acceleration and lurching between gears. It has lost all its elegance!

Performance did not improve in fact deteriorated significantly. It was back at the same main dealer today who reported a pipe to the turbo was disconnected. Have assured me the original issue and new issue are resolved plus an even newer ECU map has been applied. Let's hope this third attempt at a fix was successful!

Does the car have a Volvo FSH ? You need to ask your Volvo dealer for a copy of the 'service actions' for your car. It looks like this and tells you what is (and is not) covered under warranty. For mine, the EGR cooler is covered to 30/06/18 and the EGR valve to 24/06/20 (5 years from new).

I don't know if the garage will advertise the car's extensive fault history so if you are tempted to buy SM63MXV I hope the garage have not misrepresented it.

After so many years driving them I will miss my old Volvos but I will never again feel tempted to buy one.

As for anyone else out there if your new car goes wrong don't let Volvo repair it: reject it on the spot. If I had done that I would have had a full refund as it is, letting them help me has cost me dear.
Im thinking off claiming of my credit card company too how did you go about it?
