Allen key bolt at bottom of alternator
Hello All,
I am almost halfway through changing the alternator. I have all of the bolts off and I'm now just trying to loosen the allen bolt under the alternator. It won't budge and access is challenging. I can't tell what size it is and the last thing that I want to do is wreck the bolt so that it never comes out. I've tried with an allen key which I think fits, but I can't get enough purchase on it for it to budge. I tried also with a similar sized torx bit but it won't budge either and I don't want to out any more force on it in case I wreck it. I gave it a spay with some bolt loosening stuff but it ain't moving... Any bright ideas please? Thank you ;o) Steve |

Great - yes a 5mm hex. Bought a hex bit set from Halfrauds and with an bit of extra leverage (using an extra screw driver to make a "T" shape) I was able to budge it.
Thanks Clan. Steve |
